Four Months Later...

So, I haven't posted on the blog in quite a while.  It wasn't intentional, we've just had a lot going on!  Where to start...

We found out at the beginning of May that we are expecting Baby #2!  Baby #2 is due on January 8 (yep, the day before my birthday!).  Part of my lack of posting has been due to the wonderful morning sickness that has accompanied this pregnancy.  Ha!  Here I am, 16 weeks along, and I'm still having to take vitamins to fight it.  (With Natalie, I was done with morning sickness by week 15, and never needed to take anything to fight it.)  We have another appointment in just a couple of days, and are praying that all is going well with Baby 2!  We don't know the gender yet, but hopefully will find out soon.

Here's a video of Baby 2 moving around.  This was taken when I was 10.5 weeks.

In addition to the exciting new addition and morning sickness, we have also been moving!  To Germany!  Travis is now the euphonium player for the US Air Forces in Europe Band, which is stationed here.  We have actually been in Germany for nearly 3 weeks, now, and things are starting to settle down a bit.  The last month or so in CA was a crazy one!  Family flew out to visit us and help us with the move.  What a blessing they all were!  Hopefully in the near future I will be able to post about some of the things we did right before the move.

I am aware that the title of this blog needs to change.  haha!  I'll get around to it, don't worry.  I will hopefully start posting more often, now that things are calming down.  In the mean time, here are a couple of pictures from our first day in Germany.

The next morning (jet-lagged, of course), we had this pretty view from our hotel window.

Concert at Cline Cellars Winery

On August 24th, Natalie and I went to listen to one of Travis' concerts.  The USAF Band of the Golden West was performing at the Cline Cellars Winery in Sonoma, which sounded like a great excuse to get outside!  I was expecting it to be hot outside, but it was actually really nice, especially sitting in the shade of a tree.  We didn't have the best view of Travis, but we could hear just fine.  I spread a couple of blankets on the ground, put some of Natalie's toys out, and enjoyed the show.  It was really fun!

Yes, it's blurry... but who could resist this face?!?!

Fantasie Originale

Travis is in the Seattle area this week.  He's performing up there for the 4th of July with the concert band.  He told me before he left that he'd be playing a solo with them!  I was (am) so upset that I can't go up there to watch him play!  So the day he left town, the band had a final dress rehearsal and I got to go up there to watch!  If you are like me, and unable to be in the Seattle area this week, here is Travis performing Fantasie Originale with the Air Force Band of the Golden West.  :)

Travis' 29th Birthday

Today is Travis' birthday!  Last night he convinced me to let him have his presents, even though I was originally going to give them to him this afternoon.  I couldn't help it, though!  I've had his presents for months, now, and I was so excited to give them to him!  He had mentioned something last week or so about thinking it would be fun for me to send him on a scavenger hunt, so I did.  I thought of hiding places and clues to help him find them.  It was so fun to come up with everything!

{My awesome clues.}
It was hilarious to watch him try to work out the clues.  He did really well!  I helped him mostly with just the first one, but in the end he even figured that one out without too much assistance.  At the end of the trail was his big present.

{I'm proud of my pretty bow!}
He had no idea what I had gotten him, so I was really anxious for him to open it.  I got him the blu-ray extended edition of all three The Lord of the Rings movies, complete with his very own THE ONE RING.  haha!

{About to open the present.}
He was so excited when he opened it!  He's been wanting the blu-ray edition ever since he first saw that they were coming out with it.  It was a GREAT night!  To complete the birthday fun, I baked him a chocolate birthday cake today while he was at work, and we are about to go eat out at Texas Roadhouse.

Happy birthday, Travis!  I love you!!

4th of July in Sacramento

Travis had to perform on the 4th of July, so I drove up to Sacramento to see him play and watch the fireworks up there.  I rode up there with another band wife, and after we ate dinner with our guys, we went to get snow cones and sit down for the concert.

Travis sounded great!  He had several solos, and I was very proud.  :)
After the concert, the fireworks started!  Here are some of the best shots I got of them:

It was a good Fourth of July!
