Crochenit Baby Blanket

I have also crocheted a baby blanket for this little girl!  If you haven't heard already, I am doing her nursery in peacock colors.  (More on that later!)  I decided her blanket should match.  I found the pattern for this blanket at this website.  I had never heard of Crochenit before, but I thought the blanket looked awesome!  So I ordered a Crochenit hook (which is a yellow, plastic, 14 in. long double ended hook) and learned something new.  You work with 2 different strands of yarn at the same time, and it's so cool!  The front and back don't look the same (the dominant color on one side is secondary on the other), and this blanket is SO SOFT!  I love it.  :)

The front  :)

The front of one corner and the back of another corner.
If you decide to learn how to "crochenit," I have just one bit of advice for you.  Don't try to read ahead too much to understand what's coming up.  Just trust the pattern to be right!

Picot and Lace Sweater Set

I have been busy crafting things for our baby girl.  Only 6 and a half weeks until her due date!  Eek!  Lots still to finish before she gets here, but I wanted to show you something that I have finished.  Remember the awesome baby sweater that I crocheted for a friend a while back?  Well, I LOVE that sweater, so I made another one to keep.  :)  Of course, I couldn't just make the sweater, I had to make her a hat and some boots to go with it.  haha

I used Bernat Satin yarn in the color "Silk."  The pattern calls for sport weight yarn (which I used for the last sweater), but this yarn is worsted weight.  I just used a smaller hook this time.  ;)

I love the buttons!

These boots technically don't match the set, but I think they look pretty good with it!
Like I mentioned in the post of the other sweater, the original pattern is no longer online.  However, if you want to crochet one in a larger size, you can find that pattern here.  The hat pattern can be found here in several sizes, and you can find a pattern for the boots at this website.

Fun with Diapers

We are expecting a baby in about 8 weeks, and Travis has never changed a diaper in his life...  until today.  He decided it was time to learn to change a diaper, and he thought the best candidate for diapering was Ranger.  Yes, you read that right.  He diapered our dog.  :)  I hope you enjoy watching this as much as I did!!!
