Textures

I am still on Christmas vacation, so I had a great time being lazy while Travis was at work today.  haha!  I wasted most of the day on the internet, but I'm not sure I can actually call it a waste anymore.  I stumbled upon an awesome photography blog a couple of months ago and was looking at it this afternoon.  This lady gives away all kinds of Photoshop actions and textures (that she makes herself) for free!  Interested?  Click here.

I was checking out some of her digital paper and found some textures that she's made.  I had heard of textures before, and I knew that it was something you put on a picture to (obviously) give it another texture, but I hadn't ever tried it.  So I downloaded some textures and proceeded to look for her tutorials on how to use them.  I found her texture tutorial here and a tutorial on layer masks here.  (In case you don't want to read her blog, but want to know what a layer mask is, I used it to take the texture off of faces and things I didn't want the texture on.)

So, without further ado, here are some pictures that I edited today.  Let me know what you think!!

This is the first one I tried.  It got me hooked!  haha
{For the record, all of the "befores" are on the left and all of the "afters" are on the right.}

This texture totally made the color pop!  So cool.

I found some Valentine's textures, so I dug up an old Valentine's picture.
This one isn't my favorite, but kinda cool, I guess.  :-P

I love this picture!  My husband is so handsome!

Last but not least, I LOVE this one!  It looks like a movie poster, doesn't it?  :)
So fun.  So simple.  Yay!

  1. These pictures could be in a photography book! I like the texture of the road in the second set. So neat. And the Paris one makes me smile!
